Jenkins, aged 60, engages the mental health services two years before he kills a local village pub landlady, and then himself.

A farmer, his prize dairy herd is sold.

We have no description the quality of his life or general behaviour before these last years. Particularly no reference to alcohol being a problem.

He has threatened to shoot a local landlady, it seems because he feels she is letting him down in favour of someone else. She said and repeated that there was nothing in their relationship.
He is taken to the police station for the behaviour, there is seen to attempt self strangulation, He is then admitted to the secondary mental health admission Unit. He is declared to have an alcohol problem, and to be depressed.

He is given anti-depressant medication, never described in the whole of this report, and never clearly observed and reported as sustaining improvement or a giving a continued response to it. The medication is continuously prescribed . He is described as not mentally ill.

He subsequently appears in Court is charged with the less serious offence, is guilty, and receives a community service Order which he abides by, if complainingly, During this time he is noted to be following someone whom he knows from his pub attendance. He is reported as issuing threats toward X whom he believes reported the first incident.

There are various occasions when Davies is brought to rage outbursts. Sometimes remarks are heard in the local community when he threatens to kill himself and X or the landlady. Police are informed. The mental health service knows. He is noted as depressed. He complains of poor sleep. He has stopped his medication in the last days, declares his intention against others and himself to a neighbour, and the next day the tragedy happens.
