Mezgebe cameto england from west Africa when he was 15, following his five year older brother.

The rest of the family and parents stayed in Ethiopia, although the family hailed from other side of the contested border with Eritrea. Other siblings are in the United States.

It is likely none wanted to take part in the war between ethiopia and eritrea.

The elder brother,in England, could not carry the responsibility of his brother, and M was placed in fostering , fairly well, but later attended the young people psychatric service and was eventually diagnosed as suffering from schizophrenia, In the subsequent course of this illness, he and the service, was reliant on the support of his elder brother and then a sister, the sister being the final victim.
Although afraid of him she had accepted the obligation of supporting the family member. The elder brother was on hand but more distant.

The handover to the adult mental health service was helped by the eventual community mental health nurse having been with M in the adolescent service.

M had limited english and did not engage in a work career. There was nothing to presage the killing in his previously expressed revelations.

The victim had expressed fear of him, but that is not enlarged upon here.
