Correctness means everybody sympathises and agrees there is a liley a basis for his accusations of racism against him even when this includes acusations that his own community is ignoring his beliefs and that they too are suspect for prejudice. This would not have happened if the basic diagnosis had been firmly labelled. That does not happen nowadays even in the professional loop. This look backwards finds that proper care has lapsed in a 'let it go' manner. Somrthing like - they are responsible, now they are 'normalised',and in the community, for their own conduct, not us, the professional team who only see them infrequently and briefly. Weare not allowed to ask community observers and family without asking permission fromthe patient and we can tell this wouold not be forthcoming , and if we asked there would be mistrust, and what conversaytion we did have at interview, would be watchful and things withheld. H. has built up a long grudge against everybody, especially his flat occupying neighbours, one of whom is white, another a patient placed below him. He has become more and more withdrawn from the guiding influence of others. He no longer takes his medication for schizophrenia.
